Someone asked me recently, you blog?
I answered (very proudly), YES I DO!
And the person teased me, uy you started a blog so you can attend events and get products for free no?
It actually made me stop and reflect internally.
Did I actually revive my blog so I could have first dibs on the hottest events and products out there?
I took that moment to really ask myself the real reason on why I write and why I decided to revive this blog space.
So why I do blog? Why do I keep a web log of activities that I love to do?
Getting invited to events and receiving free products for review is just icing on the cake. I have to admit it does feel nice and its sort of a validation that I am actually doing something of value when I receive press invites. But then, it’s not my main reason.
Here are the top reasons on why i blog..
- To keep memories
I won’t have all the time and the financial resources to print photos of my little man. And this blog will be a nice way to save all our priceless memories together along with the data storage platform that I have yet to sign up for. This would also be a great avenue to reminisce about the precious times with my boy. To be able to watch his precious laughter without having to dig up the file in my hard drive.
- To be intentional.
I figured when I write about a certain goal (like losing the remaining of the pregnancy weight) I am somehow forced to stick to the goal that I have written down online.
- To de- stress
Writing gives me certain sense of calmness so I figured this would be a great way for me to de stress.
- To learn
I really want to be a good writer! And i know the only way I can achieve that goal is to keep on writing. But I want the extra pressure that someone might possibly be reading the post that I have written so I have to make sure the flow of the idea is fluid and that the writing style is impeccable.
- To connect with like minded people
I am confident that I will meet more amazing people out there whom I can learn from.
And lastly..i blog because I love to write. I may not be that great at it. And I admit that I have still have so much to learn in terms of grammars and sentence fragmentation but I really really love writing. Writing makes me happy and it allows me to expand my brain. Haha.
